Standing on the brass cap allows an individual to stand in four states at one time. The monument is located entirely on Navajo Nation land, please respect their land and customs. The Four Corners Monument is approximately 67 miles west of Aztec.

Sometimes called the 8th wonder of the world, this area consists of magnificent red rock formations that cross both Arizona and Utah. A 17 mile dirt road loops around allowing visitors to tour the area within the Navajo Tribal Park. Tours, campgrounds, motel, and restaurant are present at the monument. It is located approximately 180 miles west of Aztec.

Hovenweep National Monument |
|
Consisting of five major ruin complexes or groups that spread from
Colorado into Utah, the monument is noted for its solitude, clear skies
and undeveloped, natural character. The Anasazi who built Hovenweep
are also responsible for the ruins within Mesa Verde. Camping and day
hiking permitted within the park. Hovenweep is approximately 117 miles
northwest of Aztec.

It is here along the San Juan River where one can observe four tight turns or "goosenecks" along the San Juan River. There is a 1,100 foot drop from the mesa tops to the canyon floor of the river. It is located approximately 146 miles west of Aztec.

Glen Canyon Recreation Area |
|
The Glen Canyon Dam has created numerous scenic vistas within a region of geologic wonder, all accessible along Lake Powell. Stretching for 186 miles and extending into Utah, a range of outdoor lake activities are available from camping, hiking, sport fishing, boating, sailing, skiing, and boat tours to Rainbow Bridge.
The Glen Canyon Recreation access on the Utah side of Lake Powell is located approx. 337 miles northwest of Aztec.
